On Otium, 70 million miles from what was once Planet Earth, a group of scientists roams through deep valleys in search of water. The air is very thin and scarce, and silence is absolute. They do not speak and communicate only through thought. Danger is constant, as strong earthquakes punctuate their mission. It is thanks to these earthquakes that water may suddenly emerge from the earth's bowels, forming a lake. At that precise moment, each member of the expedition activates a flare to trigger a chemical reaction between the air and the polluted water, which then becomes clean and potable.
